Brown Men’s Bogs Stockman Composite Toe Boots Review
Don’t let the rugged exterior fool you, sliding on these boots is a treat! Once on they feel plenty snug on the feet, not to mention, ultra-comfortable thanks to a contoured EVA footbed with gel cushioning. Of course, you’ll also find a flex width insole system in coder to get that custom built fitment.
When it comes to walking around, the rebound cushioning which bounces back to return energy to the foot, was something I really enjoyed. Given their 13.5” height construction, I was rather surprised by the lightweight feel and ease of movement with every single step. It also makes sense when you consider that BOGS managed to reduce the weight by 30% with the Stockman boot.
Aside from reducing weight, BOGS’ single seamless construction works to eliminate filature points such as cracking. In terms of durability, these get high marks from me. I can see why they were tested to 1400 miles at -4F/-20°C.
When it comes to traction, the Stockman boot features a BioGrip outsole that’s slip, chemical, and oil resistant. The rugged pattern is something I can also appreciate as I’ll take all the grip I can get in brutal terrain.
Now, while these boots do feature a single seamless construction, as one would imagine odors may get trapped inside. Luckily, BOGS decided to incorporate their DuraFresh bio-technology which activates to prevent unwanted boot odors. And aside just from protecting your nose, there’s also a composite toe to keep your feet protected from injury.
Overall, the men’s BOGS Stockman Composite Toe Insulated Waterproof Boots are a rock-solid choice for harsh conditions where comfort is a must. While I choose to review my boots in the brown color, they also come in black.
With that said, I can’t wait for the winter slush, snow and ice to head my way. With exceptional waterproofing and insulation, you can bet a pair of BOGS Stockman’s will be on my feet in the cool, cold and frigid temps.
