Smokey and the Bandit made Pontiac a lot of money. After featuring in the film, sales of the Pontiac Trans Am doubled within two years. It outsold competitor Chevrolet Camaro for the first time ever. The 1978 version used in Smokey and the Bandit is equipped with a 6.6-liter V8 engine and features a large bird on the front bonnet, hence the name Pontiac Firebird Rans Am.
Although they are no longer in production, there are still hundreds in circulation but when they go up for auction they sell for a hell of a lot.

Only around 9,000 of these futuristic-looking vehicles were produced, with about 6,500 still on the roads today. The DMC DeLorean was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and is unmistakable thanks to its gull-wing doors and stainless steel outer body.

While there are different iterations in each film, it is hard to go past the 1970 Dodge Charger R/T from the first film. This high-performance American muscle car offers 900 horsepower and a 250 shot nitrous in the film. As well as being super-fast, it looks totally badass and is easy to see why Toretto always chooses it as his preferred vehicle of choice throughout the series.
