12 Celebrity Weed Smokers
Admitting you smoked cannabis was once a taboo subject. Often cited as a gateway drug, weed was looked down up by those in society. If you enjoyed a toke here or there you were immediately labeled as a drug addict and the worst of the worst. Those views have changed over the past decade. New legislation has seen the drug become legal in 37 states across America. While many of the older generations still don’t agree, most people have welcomed this change. It has resulted in weed becoming much more accepted by the general public. The addition of weed being used medicinally has also changed people’s perspective on the drug. The legalization of marijuana has allowed many people, including celebrity weed smokers, the chance to toke up.
While there have always been celebrities who smoked weed, many used to be called out for endorsing blazing up. Now that cannabis is legal, the response to celebrities admitting to smoking weed is much less severe. It has allowed many celebrity weed smokers to open up a dialogue with others about the positive impact of weed. Many have also managed to go into business with marijuana companies where they sell their own strains of weed or endorse certain products.
Whether you are a smoker or not, there is no denying the number of celebrity weed smokers is growing. Coming from all walks of life, these famous personalities are helping weed crossover into the mainstream. Here are some of the most notable celebrity weed smokers who love nothing better than a fat joint after a long day.
1. Willie Nelson

You can’t have a list of celebrity weed smokers without including the OG Willie Nelson. The legendary country singer is a known lover of the green. He has never shied away from that fact either. He also credits smoking weed with saving his life. In an interview with Rolling Stone he claimed, “I wouldn’t be alive. It saved my life, really. I wouldn’t have lived 85 years if I’d have kept drinking and smoking like I was when I was 30, 40 years old,” he said. “I think that weed kept me from wanting to kill people. And probably kept a lot of people from wanting to kill me, too.”
Not only does he love a toke, but Nelson has his own line of hemp products for sale under Willie’s Remedy brand. He sells everything from CBD oil to hemp-infused coffee and tea.
2. Jennifer Lawrence

Actress Jennifer Lawrence is another fan of the ganja. There have been several moments throughout her career where she’s talked about her experiences with weed. On The Howard Stern Show in 2018 she discussed smoking ‘rapper’ weed at Ellen DeGeneres’s birthday party. She also explained how “everyone was fucking with me” after she got high for a scene in 2021s Don’t Look Up. Having recently given birth to her first child, she was quick to point out she wasn’t pregnant at the time of filming.
3. Seth Rogan

Just like the majority of the characters he plays onscreen, Seth Rogan is a weed smoker. The star of hit comedies Pineapple Express, Knocked Up, and Bad Neighbours has been a big advocate of smoking cannabis. He stated in an interview with MTV News that getting high makes his work life much more bearable.
“I don’t know if it helps me write. It makes me not mind that I’m writing. And I don’t know if it makes me work better, but it makes me not care that I’m working,” he said. “Who wants to work? But if you’re stoned, it doesn’t seem like work.”
Rogan also admitted on The Late Show With Steven Colbert that he gets high “all day every day” while filming. Living the dream.
4. Rihanna

Rihanna has never been too concerned with people knowing she smokes weed. The singer and beauty entrepreneur’s Instagram is littered with photos of her smoking joints. She also dressed as Mary Jane for her 2012 Halloween Ball and can be seen puffing away in several of her music video clips. Then there’s that time at Coachella when she rolled a blunt on the bald head of her security guard. Rihanna really doesn’t give two fucks about being seen getting high as a kite. While she has probably tamed her habit now she is pregnant, Rihanna remains one of our favorite celebrity weed smokers.
5. Woody Harrelson

True Detective and White Man Can’t Jump star Woody Harrelson has been one of the most outspoken celebrities when it comes to marijuana. He has been an advocate for the legalization of weed, even becoming a member of the National Organization for Reform of Marijuana Laws. Although he has smoked weed for most of his life, he did take a two-year hiatus but fell off the wagon in 2019. As he told Esquire, “Yep, I did quit. For almost two years. No smoking, no vaping. And then I ran into [Willie Nelson] and that was that.”
6. Miley Cyrus

Female pot smokers don’t come any more high profile than Miley Cyrus. The daughter of Billy Ray is one of the biggest musical stars in the world. She first started smoking weed while starring on the Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana as a young kid. As she told Joe Rogan on his popular podcast The Joe Rogan Experience, she did so to keep a healthy work-life balance.
Although she no longer smokes (Cyrus is sober), she did tell Jimmy Kimmel that weed was “the most magical, amazing thing” and her “first true love.”
7. Snoop Dogg

Another must have when talking about celebrities who smoke weed is Snoop Dogg. The West Coast rapper has been inhaling since the 80s. Weed is a large part of his life. He has rapped about it for decades, is happy to talk about it, has written a cookbook with weed recipes, and even bankrolled a handful of weed businesses, including Leafs By Snoop. He is one of the biggest smokers on this list, but even he couldn’t compete with the mighty Willie Nelson. In an interview with Vibe, he recalled how the country music icon is the only person who has been able to out smoke him. “That’s the only person that’s ever smoked me under the table,” Snoop said.

8. Jennifer Aniston

The Friends bombshell doesn’t mind a toke now and then. What does frustrate her is the way celebrities are often treated by the tabloids. “You see something like that—me and my husband, ‘hooked on drugs.’ Then you read the story, and it says you smoke pot,” she shared in an interview with Rolling Stone in 2001. “It’s not even cocaine or shooting heroin. Pot!”
“I enjoy it once in a while,” she went on to say. “There’s nothing wrong with that. Everything in moderation… I wouldn’t call myself a pothead.”
9. Pete Davidson

Kim Kardashian’s latest squeeze Pete Davidson has come under attack for his drug use from Kim’s ex Kanye West. The rapper took to Instagram recently to post an image with the caption: “Im really concerned that SKETE will get my kids mom hooked on drugs He’s in rehab every 2 months.”
While it’s true Davidson does smoke weed, he does so for medical reasons. Speaking on The Howard Stern Show he explained how marijuana helps him manage the symptoms of his Crohn’s disease and his borderline personality disorder. He also added, “I also just love smoking weed. I’ve been smoking weed every day for eight years.” Maybe Kanye is right?
10. Martha Stewart

This one might be a surprise, but considering Martha Stewart worked with Snoop Dogg on the show Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party, it makes total sense. When asked what her favorite thing to share with Snoop Dogg was during her headlining guest spot at 37th Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, she replied, “Well, um, maybe–maybe a little smoke. And not barbecue smoke! He actually does a good job at sharing his smoke with me, and I don’t even smoke!”
While she isn’t an avid smoker like some celebrities, Stewart is big on CBD beauty products and those that help with wellness.
11. Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga is another celebrity weed smoker who advocates the benefits of toking. She spoke about her smoking habits in the 2017 Netflix documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two. She opened up about the chronic pain she suffers and how smoking weed alleviates this.
Gaga also explained how marijuana helps her when writing new music during an interview with 60 Minutes. “I smoke a lot of pot when I write music. So I’m not gonna, like, sugar coat it for 60 Minutes that, you know, I’m some, like, sober human being ’cause I’m not,” she said.
12. Mike Tyson

From ear-biting monster in the ring to chilled smoker on the outside, Mike Tyson has done a 180 over the years thanks to weed. A big time smoker, Tyson is one of many celebrities to turn his weed hobby into a global empire. In 2018 he launched Tyson Ranch, a 40-acre cannabis ranch in California that is believed to turn over $1 million in profit per month. A year later he started his super successful podcast, Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, where he blazes up with famous faces and talks about life. His latest venture is Tyson 2.0, a cannabis company offering everything from different strains of weed to edibles to beverages. Tyson is one of the power players in the weed game and doesn’t look like giving up the green anytime soon.
