Jeremy Renner Takes No Prisoners in New Series ‘Mayor of Kingstown’
Screenwriter, director, and occasional actor Tyler Sheridan’s latest effort is the much-anticipated crime drama Mayor of Kingston. Set in Kingstown, Michigan, the Paramount+ series centers on the powerful McLusky family who are in the business of incarceration. Dealing with themes of systematic racism, corruption, and inequality, Mayor of Kingston is shaping up as one of the must-watch shows of 2021.
Jeremy Renner (The Town) and Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights) star as brothers Mike and Mitch McLusky who semi-secretly run the corrupt town of Kingston. They are joined by Dianne West (Bullets Over Broadway) as Mirim McLusky, the patrich of the McLusky family, and Taylor Handley (Bird Box) as Kyle McLusky, another member of the brood.
The trailer features plenty of gunfire, fistfights, explosions, and compelling drama that are hallmarks of Sheridan’s work. The extended cast also includes Aiden Gillen (Game of Thrones), Emma Laird, Hugh Dillon (Wind River), Pha’rez Lass (Five Points), and the always great Michael Beech (Third Watch).
The 10 episode series is co-created by Sheridan and Dillion and will feature Antoine Fuqura (Training Day) directing the first episode.
Mayor of Kingstown will premier on Paramount+ on November 14.
