Mike Patton Covers ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Theme’ Song
Faith No More vocalist Mike Patton has never been one to stay in his lane. Throughout his career, he’s indulged in a variety of different genres and sounds, from the experimental rock of Mr. Bungle to his pop project Peeping Tom and his Italian pop covers album Mondo Cane. So it comes as no surprise Patton has lent his vocals to a new version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme song.
Recorded for the new TMNT video game Shredder’s Revenge, Patton’s distinct vocals are easily recognizable as he turns the theme song into a rollicking, feel-good piece of 80s pop.
This isn’t Patton’s first video game rodeo, with the talented musician having previously voiced the titular monster in 2007’s The Darkness and its 2012 sequel The Darkness II.
As for Shredder’s Revenge, it looks set to be an 80s style beat ’em up with 8-bit graphics and plenty of action. As per the official; “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge reunites Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello to kick shell in a beautifully realized pixel art world invoking the turtles’ classic 1987 design.” Cowabunga, dude!
There’s no date for the release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, but it’s expected to drop later this year.
