Will Smith Is Releasing His Memoir Later This Year
Will Smith has done it all in the entertainment world. Beginning life as a rapper, Smith soon had a second career as an actor on TV before graduating to the big leagues as a leading man in some of the biggest blockbusters ever released. Now the 52-year-old former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is readying the release of his memoir and has revealed the abstract cover art.
Unlike many similar projects that feature a photo of the subject, Smith’s memoir contains artwork from New Orleans-based visual artist Brandan “BMike” Odums. The cover features layered images of Smith’s face on a canvas from his childhood to now to create an enthralling portrait of the Bad Boys star. Check out the creation of the cover in the video below.

The book is co-written by Mark Manson (The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck) and details Smith’s life from his childhood to now. It will trace his upbringing and detail his rise to fame, first as a rapper alongside DJ Jazzy Jeff, then as a TV and movie star. The memoir will also reveal more about Smith’s private life and the dynamic of his family.
