Joe Pesci Sells Hideous New Jersey Shore Home for $6.5 Million
Academy Award-winning actor Joe Pesci has one of the greatest filmographies of all time. Goodfellas, Casino, Raging Bull, Home Alone, and Lethal Weapon are just a few of the massive hits and critically acclaimed films he’s been in. He never fails to deliver a masterclass in acting when on the screen, while off it, he has remained out of the private eye for the majority of his 60-year career.
But one tidbit we now know about Pesci is his taste in architecture, which is a little off-putting. The 78-year-old thespian recently sold his monstrous waterfront property on the New Jersey Shore, two years after first listing it. Pesci, who bought the home in 1994 for $850,000, managed to offload the interestingly designed abode for a cool $6.5 million, making it one of the most expensive homes in the area.
Built in 1990, the home’s art deco design makes it stand out from the surrounding properties, and not in a good way. The gaudy eight bedroom and 8.5 bathroom mansion covers 7,200 square feet across two levels, with a floating staircase and lift connecting both.
The curve-walled property features predominately white interiors; we’re talking white walls, white carpets, and white tiles. It’s very 80s inspired with numerous skylights and arches, along with large ceiling-to-floor windows offering views of the waterfront. The large open plan setting includes a lounge room with dueling black and white baby grand pianos, a dining with a round marble tabletop capable of seating 12, and a kitchen with built-in china cabinets, a 70-bottle wine rack, and an additional wine cooler.
There’s also a media room chock full of movie posters starring Pesci, a private office, and a party room with a kitchen, while the main bedroom includes a luxury bathroom and a private balcony. Dotted throughout the house are some of Pesci’s most prized possessions, including a barber’s chair in the entryway (his first job was a barber), a Lethal Weapon pinball machine, and a gilded carousel horse.
Surrounded by a waist-high white wrought-iron fence, the gated opening leads to a large paved area for guest cars and a two-car garage. Outback is an expansive deck with a heated swimming pool and spa, along with access to a private dock. Pesci obviously doesn’t enjoy gardening as there are no grassed areas. It’s all wooden decking and paved areas, making it easy to maintain.
While it’s hard to believe someone paid $6.5 million for this property, Pesci is laughing all the way to the bank. Check out more images of the home below.
