Karl Lagerfield’s French Riviera Vacation Villa Now for Rent
A French Riviera Vacation Villa owned and designed by the late Karl Lagerfield is now available for rent. The opening offers the public a chance to spend some time in the lap of luxury.
Usually recognizable by his iconic white hair, fingerless gloves, dark sunglasses, and emblematic collars, Karl Otto Lagerfield made headlines as a German creative director, fashion designer, and overall creative human. Throughout his career, he held notable titles with Chanel and Fendi. He also led his own fashion label.
Now Villa La Vigie, the holiday home of the late designer, is being listed “for rent” in France’s Côte d’Azur region. The rental is made available by Edge Retreats. And yes, with a place to crash as epic and grand as this, there is certainly enough room for the entire crew.
The home finds itself nestled into the rolling hilltops of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, overlooking the lovely Mediterranean Sea. Spanning over 6,400 square feet, there’s plenty of breathing room.
The house was built two years after the turn of the century. It would be purchased by Lagerfeld 86 years later in 1988. As a pet project for the designer, it presented him with a canvass on which to map his highly ambitious interior design vision.
Thanks to Lagerfield’s renovations, the home provides accommodations for up to 12 guests. There are plenty of features to enjoy, including a fully-equipped gourmet kitchen, a reading space, and a room for billiards. Digital nomads can even hole up in the designated office.
To get to the home requires a little jaunt on a private drive. In other words, serenity and tranquility are abound on-site. Wrapped around the villa, a terrace of 2,551 square feet overlooks an area rich in foliage. There, an outdoor jacuzzi ensures the fun does not stop.
Edge Retreats will contract a private chef for the visit, offering a delicious breakfast each morning. For additional comfort, 24-hour security and housekeeping services await visitors, too.
Lagerfeld was known as a collector of sorts. Upon his death in 2019, many of the creative’s famous wares went to auction at Sotheby’s. The sale was broken into eight distinct events with over 1000 lots. The hype remains a testament to the desirability of the designer’s collections.
The abode is currently available to rent through December 22, 2022. The rate varies based on demand, ranging from $17,332 to $52,000 per night. The fee includes complimentary access to the Monte-Carlo Beach Club’s private beach and Olympic-sized pool. Très exclusif!
