Wegner Watches Reintroduced with Kickstarter Program and Three New Watches
With 123 years of history, witness the revival of the Wegner watch brand, as they kickstart a new generation of German timepieces. With an opportunity to own one of the limited-edition pieces, Wegner reestablishes the heritage and elegance that only comes from traditional horology.
Creating his vision for what a timepiece should be way back in 1897, Eugen Wegner produced some of the most precise tools for measuring time and progress. It was the brilliance of his ideas that allowed Wegner Watches to succeed decade after decade before an unexpected economic turmoil saw them vanish in the 1960s.
Revived in the age of crowdfunding, Eugen Wegner’s great-great-grandson has embarked on an adventure to restore the old brand to its former glory, more than fifty years after the last workshop shut its doors. Determined to succeed, Jonas Bley, gathered a team of designers and watchmakers to develop a new, modern Eugen Wegner watch in 2017.
Following two years of research and cultivation, Wegner is finally ready to reveal the revived lineup. Assembled in-house in the Hamburg workshop, Wegner craftsmanship is driven by a natural instinct for accuracy and quality.
Each horologist treats every design and process with the utmost importance to deliver perfection. Delivered in luxurious packaging, each watch will arrive inside a handmade wooden box, replicating the old vintage feel of wrist wear.
For Jonas, “the brand Eugen Wegner is not only what we make of it, but also what it used to be and what it used to represent in the past. It’s all family business, it’s our family. So this is our guiding maxime for how we operate.
We want to continue to develop and manufacture high-quality mechanical watches, guided and influenced by the designs, the tradition, and the values of Eugen Wegner.”
Hevelius
Kickstarting this new vision with the Hevelius, Wegner’s names its latest creation after a pocket watch descending from the original Eugen Wegner product line.
A distinctive watch, the Hevelius embodies both accuracy and comfort. Refined with a sun cut, engravings, bluing and polishing of screws heightening its artistic details, the Wegner Hevelius is a testament to its 123-year history.
