Music Tattoos

Few bands have undergone the cultural awakening of Green Day, a group whose roots began in snot-core punk and transitioned with the times to deliver a sound and message that evolved alongside the era’s conflicts and questions.

Green Day began as a generation’s protest to an established sound, and went on to challenge the establishment itself.

Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame only a few years ago, with a smash Broadway musical prior to that, Green Day is proof that misfits only get louder and stronger with age.

Many who grew up under the tutelage of frontman Billie Joe Armstrong found a fellow rebel willing to speak up and for them, and some of those men haven’t forgotten in the decades since. Green Day tattoos honor the undying punk through various images and portraiture, including band members and emblems from various albums, among them the immediately recognizable American Idiot heart grenade, 21st Century Breakdown references, and the latest Green Day rabbit.

Inked large and loud or small and fierce, Green Day tattoos are a reminder to both the viewer and wearer to never back down or forget who they are. In a world that’s all too eager to silence the outspoken, the man with the Green Day tattoo is a rebel punk to be reckoned with.
