Biolite Campstove 2 Bundle Review – Biomass Power Generator And Portable Grill
Welcome to the modern age. One where sticks, leaves, pinecones, pellets, and other biomass can generate electricity while cooking your food at the same time. Imagine being able to turn the heat from a burning fire into usable electricity.
That’s a reality with Biolite’s Campstove 2.
With 51 jets inside the burn chamber and 4 fan speeds, getting the perfect flame to produce 3W of electrical power is quite an easy task. Best of all, while you’re charging up your gear via the handy USB port, you can grill out at the same time.
With a virtually smoke-free flame that looks like a tornado of fire in the burn chamber, boil and cook times are surprisingly fast. Take for instance boiling water, which takes just about 4 and a half minutes to complete with the included KettlePot.
For meals, the Grilltop comfortably fits up to 4 hamburgers or 6 hotdogs at a time. While cooking food does require a bit of fire to get things going, the BioLite Campstove 2 has a really nice LED fire level indicator on the front. Should the reading be too low, there’s a neat hatch above the burn chamber where you can easily add in more biomass for fuel to make things burn hotter.

Biolite Campstove 2 Bundle Review
In addition to the LED fire readout, you’ll also find indicators for the fan speed and integrated 2600 mAh battery life. Speaking of the fan speed, you can use it to increase or decrease the tornado-like effect in the burn chamber. It’s amazing how much the blowing air can turn a basic twig fire into a vortex of furiously high-temperature flames.
For the integrated battery, charging it up couldn’t be easy. Simply burn biomass and let the Campstove 2 recharge on its own. Should you need to steal some power, it will easily charge up your phone or similar devices. Of course, there’s also an included round LED flexible light too, which makes anything from nighttime tasks to cooking in the dark possible.
While there are a fair number of parts to the Biolite Campstove 2 bundle, it does feature a really cool nesting design to save space. I really liked how Biolite made the KettlePot’s handles fold inward to slim down the profile. Not to mention, the folding legs on the stove itself are a nice touch, allowing it to slide right into the Kettlepot for ease of storage.
Included in the bundle, there’s also a handy USB cable, storage bag, grill cover, starter fuel, an easy-pour lid for the kettle, a cup/bowl, and a few other small things. All in all, I was impressed how everything managed to function flawlessly together. I can tell BioLite has thought out their Campstove 2 bundle really well.
In terms of construction quality, it’s excellent. The stove in addition to the Grilltop and other accessories I expect to last for years of use and beyond.
