Men’s Holden M-51 3-Layer Fishtail Jacket Review
Meet the luxuriously warm and stunningly styled, Men’s Holden Felton Down Parka. Each features a sharp Nylon Cire Taffeta and Twill Flight cloth fabric exterior.
If you’re unfamiliar with “Cire,” it’s a highly glazed wax finish that gets applied to fabric through a process of heat and pressure. The process itself is a called calendaring and the result is a crisp, polished look with a slightly wet appearance. Personally, I found the fabrics Holden decided to go with for the Felton Down Parka to be both comfortable and exceptionally well-styled.
For insulation, Holden went with Allied 80/20 traceable down with a 700 power fill. Thanks to the distinct chamber design, I found the Felton /down Parka did an exceptional job at holding in the heat. Paired with the ex exceptional level of insulation you’ll also see a 20K waterproof/breathable membrane to up the level of comfort.

Men’s Holden Felton Down Parka Review
After putting on the Holden M-51 Fishtail 3 Layer Jacket, the slopes were calling my name. Armed with this seriously technical shell on I cruised my way on down through the trees and fresh powder.
With Japanese nylon three-layer fabric construction, the M-51 Fishtail jacket performed like a dream. Not only did it feel exceptional to wear, offering plenty of movement, but the waterproof and breathable 20K membrane made the experience all the better. In addition to the above, fully taped seams, YKK Aquaguard water repellent zippers and removable powder skirt all work their magic to up the level of performance.
In terms of the most distinctive features, the Snap-up fishtail hem easily takes the cake. It’s been ages since I’ve seen the style done on a jacket, (if ever?), but I found it to be a really nice detail with added a touch of added functionality.
Articulated sleeves offered an exceptional fit, while ultra-soft wrist gaiters, a 2-way adjustable hood, an interior zippered pocket, and finally YKK zippered underarm vents, all made my skiing experience all the better.
Overall, the Holden M-51 Fishtail 3 Layer Jacket fuses innovation and style into one remarkably well-built technical shell. Personally, I love the fact that I can go from skiing to hiking with this jacket on and the comfort, stylish look and outdoor performance transfer over stunningly well.
